Jazz

Founded in 1988 by Miguel Kertsman in New York, the Jazz conglomerate Amazonica Universal Orchestra, with incentive and inspiration from “his brother of sound”, Brazilian composer Hermeto Pacoal, performed exclusively original progressive jazz compositions. Now available from Amazonica Music as Miguel Kertsman’s Amazonica Universal Orchestra Brazz Jazz Work Book.
The band's finest nights included memorable sold out performances at New York’s Knitting Factory, 55 Bar, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall among other venues, in addition to open air and theater shows in Vienna and Brazil. The band is now regrouped in Los Angeles and will start touring during the 2007 season.
